Your privacy is important to us.
This policy explains how Australian Bee Magazine (ABN 91 703 590 096) ("we", "us") handles your personal information when you visit australianbeemagazine.com.au (also reachable at australianbeemag.com.au) or join our mailing list. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 and the Spam Act 2003.
What we collect
When you join, we collect:
- your email address
- the date and time you joined, and which page you joined from
- a record that you agreed to receive our emails
If you email us, we also keep your message and your email address so we can reply. We don't ask for anything else on this page.
Why we collect it
We use your email address to send you Australian Bee Magazine each month, to tell you about new issues, events and competitions, and to respond to you. We don't use it for anything else without asking you first.
Our emails (Spam Act)
We only send you the magazine and updates if you have agreed to receive them, and we keep a record of your agreement. Every email says who sent it and has a link to unsubscribe in one click. We stop sending within 5 business days of your request, and usually straight away. You can also unsubscribe by emailing contact@australianbeemagazine.com.au.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your email address, and we do not give it to sponsors, advertisers or anyone else for their own marketing.
We use these service providers to run the website and send email: GoDaddy (website hosting), Microsoft (our business email), and an email service provider that we use to send the magazine. They handle your information only to provide those services to us.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
How we keep it safe
Your details are kept in a protected area of our hosting account, and only we can access them. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee it. If we ever suffer a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as the law requires.
Cookies and analytics
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may receive your IP address when a page loads. Our hosting company also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we keep only a note that you opted out, so we don't email you again by mistake.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email contact@australianbeemagazine.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will try to fix it. If you aren't satisfied, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
